Researchers believe that tanning is a major risk factor for skin cancer. Even though it is believed that a base tan may protect the tanner, but in reality it acts as a radiation multiplier, thus, further increasing the risk of skin cancer. Thus, there is conflicting tanning beds information regarding the risk involved when it comes to skin cancer.
