Contact your landlord ASAP so they can come see the issue(s), but be prepared to explain why (supposedly) both of you missed it during the walk-through. If it's something that wasn't visible until something was moved/removed, most landlords will understand. Some landlords may see your actions as CYA unless it's reasonable that it could have been missed/not visible. The landlord doesn't have to agree with your side of the story. In that case, take pictures of the issue and prepare a notarized affidavit where you put in writing that the condition existed at move-in, then see what happens when you move out. You may end up in Small Claims (some places called Conciliation Court) with your affidavit and let a judge determine who has the better case.
