Why is the silver surface on some UV protection umbrellas??

So the designers limit some of the UV rays with the outside color and use little silver surface on the inside of the umbrella which could be cheaper layer (thinner) and enough to deflect the unfiltered UV rays. Another explanation is the silver (gray) color on the outside won't make the umbrella attractive for the buyers.
