Branded printer ink means ink produced by the original manufacturer. Canon thus makes canon ink, but the assumption that branded inks are the only to fit in the printer, or that they're the best possible choice is wrong. There are companies that make a living out of making remanufactured cartridges or inks, and they are making a good living.

I agree with you. A print can't be completed without two things i.e. printer and ink cartridge. If printer is of good quality and cartridge is of bad quality then the result will not come accurate and vice versa. So, it is necessary to have both the printer and cartridge to be of good quality.
