I've recently started using LibreOffice instead of OpenOffice. I find it works a tad faster than OpenOffice on the Linux machines and definitely works faster on Windows.
One of the things I find I use most in Libre/Open office is the Save As PDF.
I can make a PDF in LibreOffice and no matter what other app I open it with, the formatting stays consistent and is editable. Unlike MS office, at least 2003 and older versions which doesn't have the save as PDF feature and when you convert an MS .doc file to PDF, it always seems to screw up the formatting when converted.
Google Docs is another one that opens a LibreOffice PDF with no trouble or format problems.
I just wish editing adobe created PDF files in Linux/LibreOffice was better, but that's something Adobe makes much more difficult. |
