Honestly dont think there is a way to deter them. Drink drivers are selfish, dangerous and arrogant! They must know the dangers, after all the campaigns that have tried to stop drink driving, yet they continue to do it. Probably think that nothing will happen to them, when the more likely outcome is that they kill themselves or an innocent party.Have the host of the affair take keys as people enter the door. If the host sees that the people have been sipping one too many, don't give the keys back. If guests refuse to give up keys upon entering, host politely lets them know that no beverages will be served to them.
