I don't try and hide my feelings for proprietary software at all but I have to admit, I kinda actually like Win 7.
The only thing I've found I don't like is I'm limited in the number of things I can do at one time which slows me down some, but at least I can get those things done.
I'm antsy as heck checking my bank accounts but I have enough security going on that hopefully I'm bullet proof enough to keep things secure for the few minutes I'm there.

I agree.

Prop software is not my idea of user friendly. However, I think that MS finally got it right again (it's only been since XP and 98*SE since that's happened.)

personally, I have a basic procedure for Windows machines which involves NOTHING being installed until security apps have been installed first.

Then of course, I only install opensource apps unless I have absolutely no choice. and I mean that in terms of functionality. sometimes there is an opensource version, but it is so half-assed that it's not worth using.
